Do Not Ignore These Scriptures the Lord Jesus Said in Welcoming His Return

Scriptures the Lord Jesus Said in Welcoming His Return

The Lord Jesus once said that He would come again in the last days, and He also personally told us how He would appear and work in the last days. Let us take a look at what the Lord Jesus said: “for the Son of man comes at an hour when you think not” (Luke 12:40). “For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in His day. But first must He suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation” (Luke 17:24–25). “For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son…. And has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man” (John 5:22-27).

The scriptures repeatedly mention “the Son of man”, “the coming of the Son of man comes”, and “the Son of man comes”. This phrase “the Son of man” refers to God becoming flesh as man who is born to a human and has normal humanity, who has normal and ordinary flesh but also has a divine essence, just like the Lord Jesus. Therefore, Jehovah God and the Lord Jesus’ resurrected spiritual body can’t be called the Son of man.

The Lord’s words also say that “For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son.” That’s to say, God’s judgment of the last days will not be done by the Spirit, but by the incarnate Son of man. This shows even more that the Lord will come incarnate as the Son of man to do the work of judgment upon His return in the last days.

Just as God says, “God’s work in the present incarnation is to express His disposition primarily through chastisement and judgment. Building on this foundation, He brings more truth to man and points out to him more ways of practice, thereby achieving His objective of conquering man and saving him from his own corrupt disposition. This is what lies behind the work of God in the Age of Kingdom.

At this point in our fellowship, maybe many people can’t help but want to ask: The Lord did prophesy that He would be incarnated and appear as the Son of man in the last days, but why does God have to work in the flesh? Can’t God’s Spirit come to save us?
