But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
– Hebrews 11:6
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
This verse tells us to have faith in God. God likes those who have faith and seek His will. By faith, Noah received God’s instructions and built an ark, which saved his whole family. By faith, Abraham obeyed and went when he was called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, a place where God promised him. By faith, he was willing to offer his only son Isaac when he was tested by God. God saw his sincerity and faith, and bestowed a blessing upon him so that he would have as many offspring as there are stars in the sky and grains of sand on the beach. By faith, Job still praised the holy name of Jehovah God even though he lost a mountain of sheep and cattle, and his sons and daughters, and was sick. In the end, he was blessed by God, and God spoke to him in the wind. … There are many other stories about faith in the Bible, such as Thomas with little faith, the centurion with great faith. From these stories, it can be seen that different people have different faith.
I once saw a spiritual book, in it the true faith to attain fearing God and shunning evil is divided into 10 levels. The specific levels are as follows: 1. Only acknowledge the existence of God, which is equivalent to unbelievers acknowledging the existence of the Old Man in the Sky, and can only feel the existence of God in haziness. This is the smallest faith. 2. Firmly believe that the heavens and earth and all things were created by God based on the first kind of faith, and that is absolutely true and cannot be created by nature. 3. Believe that man was created by God and God is always guiding and providing for mankind, and only God can save mankind from sin. 4. Believe that only the Creator is the one true God and others are false gods, who are evil spirits behaving evilly and corrupting mankind. 5. Realize that God governs and rules over all things, and that the fate of a country, nation or person is all arranged and predestined by God. 6. Believe that God arranges mankind’s everything and has predestined their fate, and that what mankind have gained is blessed by God. 7. Know that God’s righteous disposition cannot be offended. God not only is merciful and loving but also is righteous and majestic, believing in God can be blessed or cursed. And thus achieve fearing God and shunning evil. This is Job’s faith. 8. See that Satan is the chief culprit of corrupting mankind and the great red dragon is the embodiment of Satan, and see clearly the true dynamics of spiritual warfare. This is the eighty percent faith. 9. Firmly believe that Christ is the truth, the way, and the life, and the practical God, therefore, they can leave behind everything in order to follow Christ, and do not leave God for a single moment, and are able to sincerely love practical God. 10. See that God’s words will achieve all and living within God’s words is meeting Him face to face, and finally can live relying on the truth and achieve entirely understanding God. This is perfect faith and also Peter’s faith. Brothers and sisters, which level is your faith in?
